Tusk or Nomad panniers?

Gday all, its time for me to get some panniers, I want aluminum and I'm on a budget as we are riding around the world, so fare I've got Tusk and nomad panniers in mind. They are both sub $900AUD for a pair,

Any opinions on these?

James

I've used a few Tusk Products but not Alu panniers. These look good for the money. 37 liter, $249 US each. (cheap!)

Hey James.
Nomads are good (they used to make them boxes for TT).
Just remember to add shipping in to the mix. Being in perth I know that shipping from EU wont make them sub $900 AUD In fact at 680Euro even with exchange rate you not gunna make it.... a rear tail in carbon fibre just cost me $150 AUD... to ship from Italy

Might want to look at something like GIVI that you can get in Perth. a pair (no rack) are just over 1200.
Or lookat at Barrett exhausts panniers and frames.. they are about 800 for the boxes and 400 for the frames... Plus shipping to Fitzroy..
Good luck..

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
