Collapsible Fuel Carrier
I recently saw a 5 litre fuel carrier that could roll flat. I hope it comes up here:

It is army green, has a round opening that looks like it'll take a funnel, looks like ex-military and can be stowed in a pannier when not needed.
I can't remember if I saw it on HU or another sight but I copied the photo to go and hunt for one but can't find anything near me.
Has anyone seen these before and know where I can get one? It looks perfect for far flung trips.

Yeah, it'll be the Desert Fox 5l bag from Flying Brick in Cape Town. Useful bit of kit and easier to carry than a jerry can when you're not using it. I kept mine in the 'beaver tail' of my Mosko Moto panniers. I wouldn't stash it full in a pannier though.

That's a good point. My 1100GS has a range of 350km which is enough for most of the situations I was in, but I used the bag on two occasions in ten weeks on my last trip -it was especially handy going to Lake Tanganyika from Sumbawanga in Tanzania as its pretty remote up that way and fuel sometimes runs out at gas stations in the back of beyond. That said, someone usually has a stash of the stuff they'll sell at a premium out of a plastic bottle. ;-) Suppose it depends on where you're going and your attitude to the risk of running out...

I have been looking at this one from Australia, though the price is a real turn off.

10 Litre Touring Bladder | Liquid Containment Bladders & Liners – Fuel, Water, Petrol, Diesel, Water Storage

Any one would know how to get these in Europe or Canada?

It's empty when it's tucked into the 'beavertail' of the pannier- not very neatly in the pic, it has to be said. Otherwise it just sat on top of the pannier and my glamourous assistant/pillion kept a hand on it to stop it falling off. I emptied it into the tank as soon as I'd done 100km or so.

I like the tough LQ bags, had the 7L one with that integrated spout in the lid but got pinched before I could use it.
Left with the old version in 10L but with a loose spout. Not so handy but either could easily survive falling off the bike at speed.

As Reg found you may only use it a couple of times - but when you need it you need it.

Have a look at a disposable 5-litre Jerri-Flex fuel bag. From 9 euros here in De or Touratech de.
Just bought one from Moto Bins - weighs 100g and (against instructions) could be reused with care, though the plug/spout are designed to make this awkward. Good for emergencies but long term an LQ or similar is better.

I got my self one of these:

7 Litre Jerry Can | Liquid Containment Bladders & Liners – Fuel, Water, Petrol, Diesel, Water Storage

I have not used it yet as I have had to delay my trip to India by a year!

The build quality is good and rolls up well!

I have not been able to locate this sort of kit within the EU (so not VAT / import taxes) I think this is due to it some H & S law.
