MTX Connect - prepaid data-only SIM card for traveling to Europe

Hello everybody!
I'd like to share my experience of using prepaid data-only SIM card. Before my last trip to Europe (Germany, Spain, Portugal and etc) I used to buy local SIM cards or look for WiFi spots in McDonalds, Starbucks and other places. Not really comfy and wastes some time. So I ordered MTX Connect SIM card and it was really worth it! First, it's FREE to get. They have 3 pricing options: 0.1 euro per Mb, 10 euro per day unlimited, 50 euro per month (for 1 Gb). I used the second option when I had to work and had to spend a lot of time on internet, and the first one, when I needed to check e-mail or google maps or posted smth to Instagram. Connection was pretty good everywhere, and I even got 4G at some places. So it's a good decision for travelling to Europe. Check it out: mtxc.eu

Good to know

Avoid Lebara provider as I had a bad experienced during 2 months around Europe. You can only top-up from their website and it is not alway easy and they accept mostly Europe bank.

I bought a SIM card from Berlin it said 3G free and call seam to be very cheap but...NOOOO...one you out of Germany you can't buy prepaid card from other countries. One you call their help center they are always trying to lie you. I got very upset as I choose an nice number and splitted to all of my partners and friends, family...then I have to keep this SIM and buy another SIM for calling.

Avoid Lebara

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
