Trying to get a bike with expired TIP from Guadalajara to the US/Tijuana

I am currently trying to figure out how best to get a Motorcycle with an expired TIP (temporary import permit) from Guadalajara to the border.

Does anyone have recommendations for an affordable transport company to ship the motorcycle from Guadalajara to Tijuana?

Also, does anyone have experience dealing with an expired TIP?

Or know if it is possible to take a motorcycle on the Ferry *from Mazatlan to La Paz* without a valid TIP?

If you make contact with Banjercito and explain your problem you can pay a fine and surrender the TVIP security deposit and Banjercito may issue a temporary permit that will give you a number of days to ride it out of Mexico .
No matter what you do ,the TVIP security deposit will be forfeited .

Is the bike and TVIP registered in your name ?
Getting the bike out of Mexico should be simple , you could just risk it , ride to the border and ride into the USA. At the exit Mexico does not stop you from riding out , no paper checks are enforced , cancelling the TVIP is a responsibility of the tourist owner of the bike . .
The USA side also makes no bones about a Mexican TVIP .
But with the TVIP not cancelled you will have a problem later if you return to Mexico with another vehicle requiring a TVIP.

Good question about the ferry to Baja , which I have done often enough . Unfortunately I cannot recall if they checked if I had a TVIP , which of course I always did have . I did once ask if they could cancel a TVIP in Mazatlan or Topo' but that was definitely NOT possible to do .

Same here

We too are trying to figure this out. Our TIP is not expired. Trying not to ride it solo through Mexico, so looking for someone to ride with, or transport to a border town. Are you riding it to the border? Or have you already done so?

Castores is a freight company in Guadalajara who can transport motos to the border. There is an expat with good references who lives near Guadalajara. He has a truck and trailer. He moves items to the border also. You can find him on Chapala.com and his email address is:
