How safe is mex 200 south of salutia?

We want to go south to la ticla in a truck with a camper on the back.

We only drive in the daytime and would not stray inland.

I know this subject has been revisited many times but things change.

If all looked good we would like to continue south on the 200 past Acapulco.

Any onsite or recent reports would be appreciated.

ALL the Mexicans we encountered are telling us NOT to go at the moment to MICHOACAN and GUERRERO, so we're not going and just changed our rough plan of not going on the 200.
It's up to you; I never listen to what embassies tell people but what locals are saying and as they ALL told us not to venture on the 200 at the moment, we're not going to.

DF...and now you are in. salutia

Where is THAT ???

Do you mean to say you. Are in SAYULITA and you DID cross on the ferry and managed to avoid being asked for the TVIP ??? Wow.

Simplest thing now would be to go back to Mazatlan to pick one TVIP up at THE DOCKS . I suppose the online order thing could work but you would still need to sit around for the courier service to deliver it in a few days or a week.

As for Mex 200 , it is s major well travelled coastal route. and fairly well policed .
The really bad crap in Michoacan and Guerrero is happening in the interior . It should be okay to travel the length of 200 during daylight .
And do take the effort to learn to reproduce place names accurately so we can actually understand where you are or what you are talking about
I do assume you can at least take the trouble to use a pencil and paper write down such MEXICAN town names correctly before starting to type them out haphazardly on these posts. And how on earth will you be able to actually tell anybody , or remember for yourself, where you have been if you are so sloppy and careless about recording correct place names.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
