2017 KLR 650 adventure ready for sale

If you’re flying in to North America for an adventure or planning the Pan American or a trip to Alaska then this is perfect for you!

2017 KLR 650 32,000kms

(bought as a late year model so only 2 years on the road)

This bike has everything and has been travel proven and problem shot from two years of steady use.

List of upgrades/mods: complete happy trails hard aluminium pannier and top case set, happy trails skid plate, master cylinder guards, highway pegs, and front crash bars, happy trails aux. light bar mounts and tour tech front fork aux. light mounts, (4) aux. lights, eagle mike front fork brace with fender lowering bracket, new front fender, (4) PVC tool tubes, replacement front LED light bulbs, MadStad 20” adjustable front windshield, custom 12V, USB, voltmeter, and 2 pin power points, Oxford heated grips, The Hub 2 power management system, spare foam air filter, double extended rearview mirror mounts for height and adjustability, handlebar risers, Top Gun upgraded front and rear coils (highest rated load), new front and rear wheel bearings, upgraded metal woven front brake line, rebuilt front brake fluid reservoir and valves, new battery, plastic choke cable delete with metal pull rod choke directly on the carb, new carb needles, spark plug, and “22 cent mod” drilling (done by a shop at the same time the valve timing was fixed), doohickey done carb has eagle mike upgraded hex bolts for easier access, eagle mike prevailing torque front sprocket nute, upgraded manual petcock with vacuum delete, eagle mike upgraded sub-frame bolts front and rear, new clutch and throttle cables, LED rear brake/turn signal kit, happy trails flashing LED rear brake light upgrade, lower rear fender delete, and there’s probably more I can’t recall....

This bike was my pride and joy and lived with me for two years. It has battle scars and a few minor things that need fixing but all the above upgrades happened because I “used” the bike and improved it for reliability at every possible chance because I traveled long distances on it and often in remote places so reliability was life and death.

I unfortunately have to part ways with it because the money is needed elsewhere at the moment but in all honesty, the way I’ve cared for and built this bike up I planned on owning it the rest of my life.

It’ll make a bombproof bike for anyone and has been maintenance weekly for the duration of its 2 years on the road. $7000CAD firm (currently insured at full replacement with accessories for 12K)

(will consider throwing in all spare parts, Oxford cover, and tool tube survival/repair kits for the right buyer)

Located on Vancouver Island, Canada

Will arrange freight shipping (at owners expense) for long distance buyers

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
