FS: Guildford, UK 2005 BMW R1150GS Adventure

Very reluctant sale:-

My 2005 GS 1150 Adventure in silver with just under 72,000 miles on the clocks. Used but never abused! Moving house and the bike sadly has to go. It has a full service history along with all paperwork, receipts, 2 keys, log books, manual, tool kit etc. Its a 55 plate bought by the previous owner (I am the second) for BMW Motorrad, Park Lane. The previous owner emigrated and this bike became my project, having it kitted out for overland travel and the 'big trip' which I never quite did beyond Europe! So mods have been made to strengthen and lighten where possible. The bike has had the subframe removed, reinforced and powder coated. The ABS has been removed and the space where the unit used to sit now houses an aluminium box which swallows spares for longer travel. An upgraded Sebenrock clutch was also fitted at around 60,000 miles and the handlebars were modified and powder coated, side stand extended to reduce the lean angle when fully loaded, oil sight glass protected etc. There are a load of things - improvements I would say. Feel free to ask.

Anyway to summarise what has been done and is fitted:-

Remus Titanium end can and Y-Piece exhaust conversion (Cat removed)
ABS removed (ABS hoses/lines still available)
Subframe professionally removed, reinforce steel welded and powder coated
OEM side stand extended and powder coated
OEM handle bars removed, modified and powder coated
K&N air filter
Engine crash bars
Sebenrock Clutch upgrade
Ohlins front and rear shocks
BMW Heated grips
Just replaced BMW hand grips - originals worn
New Gel Battery
New Starter Motor at 71,000 miles.
Custom modified and sculpted (slightly lowered) OEM seat to include front gel insert and grippier / more durable covering
New Tourances front and rear (replaced around 500 miles ago)
BMW Tall Screen and tourbinators
Vision X fog lights and brackets
HID low and high beam replacement kit (Les Wassall)
Touratech hand guards - better protection
Touratech brake and clutch levers
Touratech side stand foot enlarger
Touratech tank protectors
Touratech light protector glass
Touratech oil cooler guard
Touratech front fender extender
Touratech bash plate
Touratech numberplate extender guard
Touratech final drive protector
Touratech steering stop
Touratech Stainless Steel footpegs lowered height
Touratech tank bag (expandable) and VP45 baglets (along with Map case, weatherproof cover)
Goodridge brake lines
CPC quick disconnect fuel tank connectors for easy tank removal
Custom made aluminium box beneath tank to hold spare oil filters, final drive bearings, spark plugs, brake pads, sockets - will swallow all.
Vern World Beater panniers (same width as mirrors for filtering). Lids removable. Panniers lock and do not leak. Great bit of kit.
Custom made sight glass protector by Vern.
Rear carry rack
Wunderlich engine oil filler cap (and another one).
Wunderlich angled tyre valves

Condition wise the bike is corrosion free and I would say the overall condition is good to excellent for its age due to not riding in winter and 3 in 1 oil/WD40! Its not show room condition and it has been used and on its side due to three static drops over the 8 years I have owned it. Its never been down the road! So there are marks to one of the cylinder heads, one of the handlebar guards and one of the panniers which will pull out if desired.

Mechanically its spot on and has been serviced independently by a specialist, for the time I have owned it along with Vines and Steptoe once. MOT remaining.

Based on the above I am offering £5000 for the bike along with all the accessories (at least £4000 worth back in the day) or £4000 for the bike alone and I will take off everything and sell it separately which I really loathe to do having witnessed first hand and second hand all the time and energy which has gone into creating this well sorted GS.

Thanks!

Really enjoyed reading your add. Very well put together .... alot like your bike really.

The price you are looking for it sounds over the top.... until that is you buy a cheaper bike and price all the bits and bobs to get you to the same place.

Much as I would be tempted by yours, I feel I will stick with my steed for a while longer...... and then, yours is what I'm after.

GLWS.
