As far as I can see from online images the Victorian renewal letter is very similar to the NSW equivalent. With a NSW one I've traveled Russia, Europe large parts of Africa and South America - nearly 40 countries in all- and never had an issue at all.
As long as your document shows the make and model, rego number, VIN/Chassis number and engine number so the border officials can fill in all the boxes on the computer screen you should be fine.
FYI I've always presented a colour photocopy of the original (which I have safely stored away) and never had that queried.
