Yes I agree with you Richard re-location, I personally thought Airlie Bch, would have been nice

Well looks like we have a venue for 2011 then. Thanks to TS & Paul for stepping up to organise.
As for 2010, a few of us have already invested heavily in time and energy to try and put something together. So rather than making some negative remarks, what about telling us how you are going to pitch in and help.
As soon as Grant answers our emails we will provide more details.

Queenslander !
Firstly, I do not think my remarks were that negative if you choose
to interpret them that way it is your prerogative. The second thing is I would only be to happy to put my hand up for 2011 however I would insist it being in the Whitsundays, great rides, great location, day trip to Hamo the list goes on. Now that is out of the way we should knuckle down to this Origin series we must put on a show bigger and better than Mitta Mitta
(We can not let the bloody Victorians show us up !!!) And yes I will put my
hand up if you need a hand all you have to do is let me know.
As for Richards comment I am sure he did not mean anything by it, all the ?
would of been was any where else even considered ? Well I can answer that for you, it would be a bit silly for it to be in say Airlie Bch or Townsville, Cairns any any othe destination, if the primary organisers live in the South East I even acknowledge that so Congrats for putting you hands up and we look forward to a great Meeting !!!
Thanks Paul

Hey Saab don't get your knickers in a knot m8.
It was only an observation and like Paul, I have heard nothing about any of the processes involved, so my comment still stands, there is more to QLD than the south east.
After attending the last meeting this year, no one at any stage mentioned the 2010 meet, so I assumed it was an exectutive decisoion made by Grant or someone else high up the chain.
I would also think the 2011 will be down south, so maybe 2012, if I am not back overseas by then. But, Winton is a nice town
Cheers

So it will be in south-east Queensland? As soon as it is confirmed with Grant, please let us know the exact location. Does this means Grant will come down too?
When is ANZAC day next year? Foregive me, I'm new in Australia, dont know these things yet. My wife and I will be looking forward riding over from WA to attend and help out at the venue.
Maybe we can arrange to meet other travellers at Alice Springs and ride across the Simpson desert or something like that occross together?

And the meeting is ???
Hi everyone,
I have been following the thread and I am keen to find out where it will be held as I am a teacher and I'll have to take time off to go. Is it going to be in Cooroy?
Just for future reference, one of my good friends has a rather large property just north of Cape tribulation in the far North. I have just spoken with him and he said if you every wanted have a HU meeting up there all you need to is ask. It would be a fantastic location, basically at the end of the creb track.
Just a thought.
I also like the Airlie beach idea, great location.

Might have to be a little patient with this one, "Maximondo" Danielle is in SA for Christmas. I have not heard any more news at this stage but as far as I am aware it is all systems go!
I have had enquiries from several travellers/presenters which I have passed on to Danielle.
It should be a cracker, see you all there!
Merry Christmas
Glen

Hi Saab
I cannot give a firm commitment, but I have been asked by Grant to maybe make a presentation if I turn up.
I have no idea on what I would do it on though, but at this stage put me down for a travel talk thingy and if there is something you can think of that may be of use, I can do something else along those lines. I have no idea what has already been sorted of course, so just let me know.
Cheers
Richard

Just show photos and brag!!
The stuff to tell; buying a bike in US, shipping Panama to Colombia, rough budgets, highs and lows, what you took and what you threw away and what you forgot to take and any tips for on the road you found useful
did you sell the Strom? Wanna buy mine?

Vendors Needed
We need more vendors for the meeting.
It seems that the Australian motorcycle industry is keen to take our money, but not so keen to support these type of events.
If you are a business owner that has products that might be of interest to the travelling rider then please contact me asap.
Huge thanks to those vendors & sponsors that have already committed.
Aussie Biker-Noosa
Tyres for Bikes-Albion
Coastline BMW- Kawana
City Hire-Brisbane
ARB
Team Moto
Touratech Australia
Andy Strapz
Jesse Luggage
Please support these businesses if you can.
Cheers
Guy

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
