Globenomaden on Worldtour - Oman

Hello,

We are Eva and Alfred from Austria and on a round the world trip with our Unimog 1300L. It took a long time from a dream to a real thing. The last 25 years we made a lot of trips as a backpaper, 4x4 driver and also with our 2 KTM 640 Adventure bikes. We never run out of travel destinations but always on time. So we had to change our life and made an exit to adventure.
Since August 2015 we are on tour and are still happy.

At the moment we travel in OMAN and want to share some pictures and impressions from this impressive country. It's perfect for Camping and we enjoy the hospitality of the people.
Maybe we encourage some of you to join this country for your next trip.

More information to us and our journey on our website
http://www.globenomaden.at

Please apologize our English, we hope we will improve it soon.
Happy new Year and safe journeys to all of you
Eva and Alfred

Oman

Hi Guys

I lived in Oman for 6 years and travelled extensively.I then lived in Dubai for 5 years before driving home to Spain via Iran.

I would love to do a return trip via Iran again but red tape now regarding guides seems to be making this difficult. Could you say a bit about how you got to Oman and did you need guides? Assume you came through Iran!

Hi Tony,

You are right we crossed Iran. We came from Turkey and entered Iran at Bazargan border. Iran was a really great experience and we can warmly recommend a visit.
Fortunately we didn't need a guide. Our information is that only people from UK, Canada and USA need one.
There is a ferry from Bandar Abbas to Sharjah. Details about Ferry procedure you can find in Country information's on our Homepage.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
