customs clearing in BA

Today with my Broker Dakarmoto. We fail to clear the truck from port and it is beyond 5 days, so charges are coming in.
We have paid shipping agent Hamburg sud $434
TRP at Terminal 1,2 wants $837
TRP at Terminal 3 wants $938
and Dakarmoto $350

totalling $2559 and this is without the extra charge per day in delay clearing.

any ideas would be really welcoming at the moment???

Search on here for Dakkar Motors. They help a lot of motorcyclists bring in, and ship out their bikes. They helped us a LOT getting parts shipped into Argentina for our Unimog.

Your looking for Sandra or Havvier. They are in BA, and very very nice people. You'll meet them at the Hubb meetings once you get rolling.

Merv, they are already using Dakar Motos as an agent.

Gunnkinh, I dont see anything else you can do ... you have to pay what ever they come up with or forget about your truck. I still remember the words of the manager of the warehouse in Sydney when I complained about a highly inflated bill. He said: +We have your bike, if you dont pay you dont get it, its that simple+ I had to bite my lips not to call him a thief and I just said: +Yes, nice welcome to Oz+. Good luck.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
