I just wanted to add that we just shipped our 1150GS out of Veracruz, this time heading to Barcelona. We did the whole process without an 'agente aduanal' but you will need a good level of Spanish and lots of patience in order to do it that way. I recommend for all those without good Spanish to hire an agente aduanal, like Enrique Reyes above. There are lots of agentes in Veracruz if you go up and down the streets looking.
Here are some other contacts:
Maderas Rivero (crate for a large bike will cost around 3500MXN with the transport to the port warehouse included). You need special wood for exportation that is certified.
Address: Revillagigedo 3185 Colonia Centro (big red warehouse on the corner of Revillagigedo and Echeven)
Banjercito (to get your bike/car deposit back) When we went to ask, the lady was familiar with the process and gave us a list of the documents/photos we needed to bring back to her in order to get our deposit back and the bike permit canceled. Very important step!!
Address: Gonzalez Pages 967 Colonia Centro
If you have any questions, please let me know and I can explain in further detail the whole process. As it was quite long and complicated, its hard to write out but I can try if you ask! :)
Hey man!
I'm wanting to ship my 2007 BMW X Challenge 650 motorcycle from Mexico to Europe in April or May. Do you have an email for your agent? What does the shipping look like from a cost standpoint as well as shipping locations? You have a lot of great information about the wooden box but I'm curious if Veracruz is the cheapest option in Mexico. I'm looking for the most cost-effective shipping for the motorcycle. I'm incredibly flexible with my timeline as well as shipping locations.
Thanks for all the help!!!
Hi there!
Sorry, I have no email, but can remember clearly, that emailing the agents for offers in my case failed completely: Nobody answered, and if they did, they asked for my personal appearance and did´nt send any information. I therefore did the research for the cheapest agent myself after arriving in Santa Cruz and don't know, if other harbors might be cheaper. Sorry for the not very helpful answers, all the best (and keep in mind my informations are more than five years old), TEF
