Linkage Bearing Set

Hi everyone,

I have a 1995 Yamaha XT600E and it's going through it's MOT.
It has failed and needs a it's rear suspension linkage bearing replaced.
The mechanic hasn't had any luck in finding a replacement, and searching eBay and Google has left me with no luck.

Any suggestions where I can replacement parts for this?

Thanks for your help here!

Rich

Parts are available, but it's not as straightforward as you think? you may end up replacing the bearings & still have excessive play especially if he's talking about the "up/down" movement?

It could be the bearings, it could be the solid bushes worn out or it could be the bolt that has worn a groove, it may & in my case was all three.

Follow the link to MEGAZIP, either buy the whole lot in one go through them or if you think you know the offending part copy that part number & search locally.

Or try WEMOTO? unsure on that but have a look, or Kedo.de

Hi Mezo,

Thanks for the link. I sent it across to the mechanic but he agreed with your suspicions that replacing the whole thing may be more appropriate.
I found a guy in Holland who had a spare one I will use.

Thanks for your help here.

+1 on mezo, nevertheless, most wear will be in the solid bushes, pins/sleeves and holes in the metal tongues getting oval,

there is only one proper bearing in the whole system #27, rest is quite shameful engineering on behalf of YamahaTBH.

a good machinist could make all the pins and bushing to measure to make a linkage with little or no slop, not rocket science

my 2 cents

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
