Visa to Iran - my own motorcycle trip

Hello

I am planning a trip to Iran with my own motorcycle in May. I need some help to find a travel agency for visa invitation. Key2persia was denying my request because they tell me i need a tour guide and a definite itinerary. In other words , i can't enter in Iran with my motorcycle. Please help.

This is one of the most discussed topics in the Trip Paperwork and Middle East forums. Have a search.

May be it depends on your citizenship.
We got both last year, visa and invitation by the travel agency Iran Visum München | Persepolis Travel

Good luck

Any recent news about entrance with motorcycle? Two agencies replied me today saying that according to the new rule of the MFA i need a guide for entering Iran with my motorcycle. I am Greek so I suppose if the rule is official it's a generic rule and does not depends on citizenship.

I have contacted "Touran Zamin Tour Operator". No mention of tour guide or the like. Cost is EUR75 for a one week turnaround on the invitation letter with the reference number to apply for the visa. I wired the money today.

If you have UK, US or Canada passport you can't escape the guide...

Will let you know if there are any problems.

Hello,
I was in Iran with my motocycle in October. And I didn`t need a guide.
If you have a greek passport, I believe it`s the same. Only US, UK and Canadian, may be Australian people need a guide. In the consulate in Munich, I doesn`t need any Invitation letters or any numbers. The only thing was to send the passport to the consulate and pay the fee. Also you need a carnet de passage for the bike. And they ask for an insurance.

Regards
Wolfgang

Im sure you will find some help here: Caravanistan - The Silk Road Travel Guide
Just dont mention that you get into the country by motorbike and you will get a number. You do not have to lie because in the form it is not asked how you will travel in Iran.

Safe trip

Hi,

I have a similiar problem. I have a reference number, but the munich consulate wants me to contact an iranian motorcycle club for a document, I have never heard of.
Do you have any clue, where or what I have to do?

A friend of mine got his visa 4 weeks ago in Istanbul without such a document. I told the official about that, but he couldn't give me an answer.

Does nobody ever search this site??

If you tell the inviting organisation and / or embassy that you are planning to enter Iran with a vehicle they can insist that you go with a guide.

If you don't tell the inviting organisation / embassy that you plan to enter with a vehicle, they will not ask you to go with a guide.

It's pretty simple.

You could always say that you don't have the money to pay for a guide an thus change your plans about taking your vehicle into the country. It worked for me to get the visa. We'll see if there's any problems at the border, but I don't expect so.
