Great report!
Kathmandu,
Thanks a lot for sharing all that info, really useful (and nice of you).
I would add that you may also find cheaper Indian bikes like Bajaj Pulsar, and there are plenty in Nepal, India and Iran, so it may help to get spares on the way back.
Miquel-Silvestre, according to the thread, I understood you can drive into Nepal with an Indian bike and come back. In Nepal I met people with Enfields with Indian plates and never mentioned any problem. Actually, in November there was an Indian rickshaw for sale in Hearts and Tears in Pokhara, obviously intended to come back home. Really nice couple in H&T, but if you plan a course, book in advance! (more expensive, but much nicer bikes to rent).
In the worst case, you may rent a Pulsar or similar for around 7-9 € a day in the Junction in Pokhara (as we did for 8 days) or in Thamel in Kathmandu. 150cc, two up and still the fastest on the road (except downhill!).
Buen viaje, paisano
