Ferry from Europe to Egypt
Hi
My husband and I have been traveling by small car in Russia and Central Asia, now.
We are looking for a car ferry from somewhere in Europe to Egypt. From Turkey or Greece is better, but anywhere is OK.
Anybody has experienced that route lately?
Or should we get a ferry to Israel?
Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Yuko

Thank you for the advice, Mike.
It’s too bad that there is no ferry to Egypt. It seems hard to drive from Israel to Cairo via Sinai.
I’ll try to research and think about it.

Yuko

Hi Yuko !
unfortunately I have to make this painful experience now.
I stuck in Erzurum firmly (near the border with Iran).
I really wanted to Sudan by Turkey by ferry to Egypt, and then ahead.
But unfortunately there is nothing to do.
And then I wanted an alternative through Iran.
But I do not have a carnet, which is also extremely difficult.
There is only one RoRo connection from Greece. But costs only for my bike already € 400
if you know what you have experienced new, it last me know.
regards
Johannes

Hi Johannes!
Your situation sounds like very hard.
I’ll post when I get something new.
It’s good news for us if a ferry going to Egypt exists in Greece. Please let me know the company’s name, if you know.
We are currently in Kazakhstan, and want to find a route until we arrive in Turkey.
Have a good trip

Merhaba Yuko,
1-Bad news...Things change so fast in mideast and go to worse conditions. nomore connections between turkey and egypt yet...
2-Current situation...From time to time, there are cargo ships from pireus to alexandria..you must fly to egypt separately..you can face with big surprises for clearing customs in egypt...Fixer is a must for paperwork..
3-Good news...All credit and thanks go to Mike who has done this 3-4 weeks ago and explained here a while ago...
Here is the link to his thread with many details..
