We sent our bike from Cape Town to Buenos Aires in October 2022.

We used EconoTrans in Cape Town, and used Dakar motors to clear the bike in BA.

Hope that's some help

My bike is presently in Cape Town and has been since the beginning of September. I'm getting quotes to fly it to South America as I was unable to secure a spot in a container with African Overlanders. The quote I'm getting from Econo Trans to Buenos Aries is $4240.00 USD for my 2009 Suzuki DR650!

Container to Cape

I just dropped off my moto in Cassblanca to be fully crated, stored, and shipped to Cape Town, where I will meet it in August, to continue my adventure in Africa. I looked at airfare, costs logitic's, plus the fact I had to be there in person, before and after. So I decided to fullycrate, and place it in a container. This works since I have arranged storage on both ends.. My Moroccan TVIP permit will expire while in transit, so I was instructed to leave it with agent, who will regesister with customs.
$2,350, I anticipate a few minor costs, plus I will probably get a carnet before it arrives in Cape Town. OR I can purchase a TVIP directly with South Africas,, I haven't decided yet which one is best since I don't know exactly where and when my moto and me end up in a few years?

Smiles
Jeff

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
