Over Stay in Uruguay
Hi,
I don't know if you have your Rover out yet but here is an observation or two. When I take my bike out of Montevideo by ferry to Buenos Aires, I go inside and buy my ticket and have my passport stamped "out" of Uruguay. While waiting in-line to load, a Uruguayan official will come by in the parking lot to collect my temporary import paperwork. He goes from car-to-car-to-bike-to car and never looks at the documemts. Apparently he goes inside later to enter the data. So that may be an option.
At Fray Bentos you have to go inside and do both immigration and customs out of Uruguay and into Argentina. Much more formal.
Same on the Brazil side but at Acegua, the Uruguay station is a small truck crossing with no computer and relaxed guys. Leave your papers with them and then go on to the Brazil side where you will stamp out of Uruguay in your passport at the same station where you will enter Brazil.
Just some ideas...
Good Luck
