Any other border between Pakistan and India for tourists than Wagah

Hi, currently it is not possible to cross Wagah border from Pakistan to India with a German passport. Is there any other border open for tourists? Any advice how to pass from Pakistan to India by land on motorbike?

Wagah has, for many years, been the only road border crossing between the two countries.

What is the evidence of Germans not being allowed to cross? I have never heard of this before and do not believe it is correct.

I am currently in India and have met around 10 people who have crossed that point in their own vehicles and with German passports in the past couple of months, if there is a ban it is new, but to answer your question no there is not another crossing point.

Thanks Mark, it was an information on the official site of the German mfa. I also was wandering why only Germans are not allowed...

departure and transit
The national borders are basically open, but closures ordered at short notice and not announced - even over longer periods - must be expected. The Wagah border crossing to India is generally not passable with German passports.

(Translated by Google)

This second sentence is typically vague nonsense published by governments, sourced by a person who has probably no experience of travelling overland/crossing borders.

For sure, 'in general' it is passable with a German passport. If there were ever any problems for a German trying to cross they were specific to that person.

Or it is just a very confusing way of saying that you need more than just your German passport, i.e. you need to have a Pakistan visa in it before hand.

As usual, government travel advice is best ignored.
