Stans Visa's

Hi all,

I'm about the start the stans part of my trip, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan.

I'm researching visa for theses country's but there's a lot of mixed info out there. Does anybody have any up to date info regarding visas?

I hold a Irish passport and travel by motorcycle.

Would like to know what country's I can get a visa on arrival and what country's I will need to apply beforehand.

Thanks in advance

Hi Dylan,

IMHO

http://caravanistan.com/

is the best source for visa requirements for "stans" countries.

Good luck

Caravanistan is a good first stop but remember it's a private site and not official. Countries do change their regulations so it's a good idea to check with the embassy web sites for the latest official info.

As a rule visa on arrival tends not to be possible down here although some of the countries you mention EU citizens don't need visas. The thing that could catch you out is registering with the immigration police, foreigners need to go to OVIR offices to get registered in the country within a few days, it gets expensive if you don't do that.

My only other observation is you may find it difficult to get a visa for Turkmenistan, most people do.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
