London to Vladivostok June/July 2015

Hi all!

I am planning a trip riding from London to Vladivostok on my 2014 KTM 690 Enduro, starting June/July 2015.
Expecting to do it solo, but would like to see if anyone else is riding in that direction, and wants to hook up for any part of it!?

Rough route is as follows:
London-Kiev-Volgograd-Astana-Barnaul-Ulaan Bataar-Chita-Vladivostok.

Due to work commitments in London, i want to complete the journey in around 40-50 days. I want to ride the length of Kazakhstan and Mongolia, but pretty much race through much of Europe.

Let me know if you are interested and give me your thoughts!

We could combine our effort on some part of the route.

Hi Will,
I'm planning to go from Moscow to Almaty (Kazakhstan) via Tadjikistan.
I'm going to depart from Moscow on 13-14 of June. I'll be riding Suzuki DR650.
I have to meet my guide on 20th of June in Samarkand. And go with the group to Pamir mountains. We could go together with you from Moscow to Samarkand, then you could go further east to Mongolia OR you could continue with us and visit Pamir and go along the border with Afganistan. (I could send you guide charges if you are intersted in that part) Then you could go further to Mongolia. Samrkand to Almaty part will take about 17 days. Arrival to Almaty is planned on 7th of July.

Please let me know if you interested.

Kindest regards.
Leonid.

Will, I'm looking at going to Samarkand and back starting July 2015. No detail planning yet but Kiev was one of the routes I'd considered. I'm just in Hampshire so may be worth a chat to discuss routes visas etc., and maybe join up for the first week or so.

Its my dream too! Now I've almost made it a reality!

I have a Russian colleague who will take me through some of the basics, but nothing more than the basics! Never been good with languages!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
