Wink From France to Mongolia & return

Hello everybody!
I am riding a GS R 1200 Adv with no time limit (within reasonable))
I am planning to depart from France (Annecy) by the end of April for a long trip with final destination Mongolia throughout Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece (stop over to rest a bit) Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kirghizistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia.
I am shortly starting the preparation process including to seek for visas wherever necessary, thus I would appreciate any suggestion or sharing of experience over the above mentioned journey.
If anyone wants to join, I shall be delighted to share such a great challenging trip.
Thank you.

Salut Pierre

Pierre

Hello Brian
Happy to hear that you are considering a similar round trip.
It would be great if we can arrange to travel together.
My ideal departure date would be the first week of may even though I am flexible.
What kind of motorbike do you ride?
Kind regards,
Pierre

Bonjour Mickael,
Amicalement
Pierre

Bonsoir,

You really need to talk to Thierry Floreck ( Tiger3 here on the HUBB), he has ridden to Mongolia probably every year for the last 3-4 years on his 1200GS.

He has made several excellent presentations of his trips at the HU france meeting, and organised last years event after spending 3 months on the road riding from the Dordogne to Mongolia and back.!

Good luck.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
