Australian Russia World Cup Tour 2018

Hi there Sheldon here, I am an Australian guy riding a 2011 F800 gs in Poland at the moment just putting the feelers out there to see if there is anyone heading to the football world cup in Russia during June/July 2018.

At this stage I'm heading off from Poznan here in Poland a few hours from Berlin as it warms up in Europe around late April/May and plan to be crossing into Russia on or around the 4th of June the first day of the Fan ID free visa comes into effect. The route I'm taking takes me through Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Saint Petersburg Russia across to Moscow and then east 1000kms to the Australian matches in Kazan and Samara then to somewhere :-)

If your heading the same or similar way say hi and we can keep in contact and we might be able to hook up for a or share some helpful tips.

Russia all of June

Hey Sheldon,

I'm an Aussie too doing a similar route (the world cup just happened to coincide!).

Planning to enter Russia on the 1st June -> St Petersburg, Moscow and further west. I just have the normal visa not the fan one so I only have all of June before entering Kazakhstan.

Will send you a PM with my contact info. Happy to try and align schedules for a ride along or even meet up for s.

Cheers,
Shane.

P.S. Currently Italy heading up to Germany, Poland and the Baltics.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
