I've been down Baja many times but don't know all the many routes available. I've followed the Baja 1000 Race course several times, usually following other riders who are actually good at navigation. Also, the 1000 race course has at least 3 different variants.
Go on the Baja forums and ask for route help. Good maps A MUST if you go exploring.
If you want to do more serious off road exploring then lots depends on which bike you're riding. Lots of fairly easy tracks to follow but some murderous ones too. Not good if on the WRONG BIKE.
Some GPS tracks may be available to buy. Not sure. The old paper maps aren't bad, give good basic views.
I like the area West of Loreto, heading out to La Purisma to the West then continuing onto Scorpion Bay. See both the two Comumdo towns then check beaches like Todos Santos.
South of La Paz there are also some fun, easy dirt roads that you can follow to Capo. North of Capo you will find Todo Santos and other more remote coastal areas.
You can find the Baja 1000 track that leads South out of Bahia de Los Angeles.
Try to get out to San Franciscito ... cool little beach, very remote, lots of deep sand to get there via Baja 1000 course.
