Alaska July & August 2017

Greetings!
I'm planning on heading to Alaska from the the Mid-Atlantic area beginning in July and getting back middle of August (or later if needed).
I'm just beginning to think about routes so I'm open to meeting somewhere along the way or changing routes to match what your planning.
Just not crazy about traveling the vast wilderness of Canada & Alaska solo.

Anyone else planning on that trip of a lifetime?

@ bmclaughlin:

I'm in BC at the moment and will start riding again in the spring. I'm a Belgian rider and have crossed Canada on-and off-road. The idea is to do more off-road in BC, than over to VI and back. Than up to Alaska. Chances are high that my German friend will join me for the most part. So feel free to ride or meet up with us as you like.

Cheers,
Bossit. :-)

Hi,

I`m starting end of April in Nova Scotia, want to ride south to Key West, then to the West Coast, up to Alaska Prudhoe Bay and back on the TransCanadaTrail (or parts of it) again to Toronto. I´m not planning exactly, but thinking to make the Alaska leg in July. I need to be back near Toronto by the end of July due to an appointment.
I can do long riding days if necessary, but don`t know if this plan works. I would appreciate to find some guys for the more demanding offroad pieces.

See you on the road
Joerg

Thumbs up

Salute
we are going to send the bikes to Anchorage and start our trip in august 1st or 2. Maybe we meet on the way. Just look out for two German GS bikes. We heading on to south with a few detours.
It seems it might be fun.

Canada/Alaska

Hey, I'll be riding the TransCanada Highway in July (freighting my GSA into Boston via James Cargo) then winding my way up to the TCH via Niagra/Toronto/Hunstville to head West to Oregon. There I'll be meeting a buddy on 30 July and heading up to Alaska to Prudhoe Bay (Dalton Highway) and winding our way back down the Rockies, Colorado, Montana, Vegas, and up to San Fran (via Death Valley) and ship our bikes back to Blighty in early-October (using Kingstown Shipping). We plan to take in the HUBB Meets at Nakusp and California (Yosemite) along the way. What could possibly go wrong?!

Vancouver to Alaska

I've been to Alaska June 2014, would like to go back again. I didn't get to Prudoe bay. This year though hell or high water. I do like camping, but motels are just so convenient. Could & would ride the whole way with you. I've been to Inuvik as well, the road to Tuktoyaktuck is supposed to be completed this year, but not offially open til Nov.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
