Traveling from Perth to London - after some travel advice

Hi everyone!

My partner and I are currently planning a trip from Perth to London in a troopy (yes, I know it's not a motorbike! :P), leaving in April 2017.

Our route is going to be Darwin - Indo and South East Asia - India - Middle East - Europe.

Any travel advice on routes etc you're happy to share would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Joely

Thats a huge question and too bad you missed the Perth HU meeting last month. A few specific questions will help us answer you but, in general think aboutyour carnet du passage and your route.. Right now SE Asia seems to be a bit tricky in paper work side of things.

Since you are in perth I dont usually do this kinda of marketing here but i run a shop in midvale based on overland travel pop in and we can talk though all the issues. If you wnat the name/adress Pm me or google overlander adventure in perth and hopefully you'll find me

Joel,

I am going through the process now, I'm hoping to leave just after Xmas on a bike.

Darwin to Dilli is easy enough to organise, rates do very but guessing you'd be up for around $2,500 to get it over, from there you'll be able to ferry through Indo to Malaysia.

Things are changing in Thailand at the moment and its not as easy as it once was, can still do it just got to plan ahead a bit more. Watch this FB page: Thailand-New regulations affecting overland travellers. Lot of good up to date info.

You will also need to join a guided group to get through Myanmar, watch here, ride asia and GT-rider forums for info and overlanders looking for over overlanders to join up to reduce costs.

I'm still working on a few things, the rest I'll work out as I go along.

Good luck

Josh

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
