Round trip from UK to Baku and back in 28days..?

Hi to all.
As title says ..

Spring 2020 in the UK I'm planning to ride my BMW two up with my partner across europe and Turkey to visit Georgia , Azerbaijan and Armenia.

We both have a 28 day window in our work schedules in the spring of 2020 and wondered if this would be possible.
Obviously I know it can be done if we rode hundreds of miles each day but our plan is to take cross country routes visiting and staying in interesting places as we go.
I'm a very experienced rider and we are both used to overlanding Europe wide by motorcycle but both our work schedules limits the distance we can reach

So .. do you think 28 days is enough ?

I have ridden out that way a couple of times and whilst it can certainly be done there would be little time to see much and would be quite tiring without rest days, if you could limit your trip to western Turkey your timescale would work better. Your route might also be longer than you expect due to the politics of the area, I am fairly sure you cannot cross from Turkey and Azerbaijan to Armenia or back requiring you to go back and forth into Georgia.

Hi me and 2 mates flew out to Antalya for 2 weeks and hired bikes at €45 per day .
this was with Turkey Bike Rent they pick you up at the airport take you to nice hotel not expensive and we just toured and had fun took our own bike gear . I am not too sure but I think you can arrange to take the bikes to Georgia. All so check out Bulgaria bike service ship your bike to Sofia and fly out to pick it up . hope this helps a wee bit
cheers Robbie

Yeah, the main question is, do you want primarily want to ride around the South Caucasus, or do you primarily want to ride through Europe and Turkey?

You can very comfortably fill 28 days in Georgia and the others, enjoy yourself a lot, and rent a bike just for the bits where it makes more sense than a car (and only ride when the weather is good for it).

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
