Angola visa

Does anyone have any advice about getting a visa to Angola (U.S. citizen)?

I can ramble on about all the info I've been getting online (have to send in your passport, have to present yourself to a consulate, etc. etc.) - but the long story short is that 60 days prior to entry, I'll be somewhere in the middle of the Sahara... not sure how to fulfill their regulations while I'm traveling.

ANY advice would be most helpful!

Hi,

I'm moving down the West Coast now, the notes I've gathered from many people in front of me say:

Angola: get it in Accra, Ghana for 140 euro - takes 2 days or pointe noire (congo-B) or matadi (congo-B) for 5 day transit.
I hear they issue them in Accra no problem - I'll be trying there soon.

I heard you can extend the 5 day transit visa once you are in the country in in Sumbe.

Good luck!

-Dan

Dan, from what I can tell from the state web sites that is correct. I am several months behind you and will be watching for updates here. Please share after you get through

Thanks so much for the on-road updates! As we all know, the internet isn't all that omnipotent when it comes to... well, anything. I was really worried the Embassy requirement of in-person interviews in the home country was the only way. Thanks again... and please send us an update when you get through!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
