Crossing the boarder from Brazil Ponta Pora into Paraguay- info for those yet to do.

Hi all,

Thought we'd post our experience of crossing the boarder from Brazil Ponta Porta into Paraguay.

Initially we were going to cross, after leaving Bonito at Bella Vista until we read there is no Migration point there. We travelled down to Ponta on a Sunday early in the morning, we rode straight to the Airport which was open but completely quiet, found the migration desk, disturbed the officer from reading his book and within 1 minute had our passports stamped out of Brazil..... easiest exit ever.
We then went across the road to the Paraguay immigration (Y shaped building next door to the "China Mall" ABOUT 200 mtrs from the airport); disturbed the lady from watching Madonna film clips and within 1 minute we were stampped into Paraguay. We then went down the road another 200 mtrs to the Aduna office..... but being a Sunday it was closed.....so we'll sort that out tomorrow.
All in all a very easy experience for which I had a bit of uncertainty about. The whole town is divided down the middle by the boarder and you can freely go from one side to the other, as long as you dont venture to far into either country without getting everything sorted.

We hope this may help others who are heading this way

Hi everyone,

This post is 6 years old.
Has anyone crossed the Brazil-Paraguay border at Ponta Pora recently ?
Is it still the same procedure ?
Thanks,

L.

Answer to my own question :

- Brazilian Immigration Office is inside the building of the Policia Federal, corner of Rua Baltazar Saldanha & Rua Antonio Joao.
Quick & easy.

- Paraguayan Immigration is across the Shopping China Mall, on the roundabout into town at the very end of Route 5.
There is a blue sign that reads " Puesto de control migratorio ".
Open 7 a.m till 8 p.m daily.
Immigration officers were a bit of a pain...
You'll have to show proof of yellow fever vaccination.
They decided to give me only 1 month instead of the standard 3, I suppose I looked too poor

Stop here for your temporary vehicle importation permit:
Administración de Aduana de Pedro Juan Caballero
Av. José Gaspar Rodriguez de Francia, Pedro Juan Caballero 130123, Paraguay
https://maps.app.goo.gl/PETPgAgvjLbMqb2cA

IMPORTANT NOTE: The offices are closed on Saturday and Sunday.

FUNNY STORY: I arrived on Saturday and knocked on the glass door of a large building that was very much closed. The security guard greeted me and after a short conversation asked if I was in a hurry. I said yes and he made a call but added I would need to pay gas money. A lady arrived 10 minutes later and processed the paperwork quickly. She accepted $15.00 USD for her trouble and I was glad to reward her. She suggested I leave something for the guard and accepted the last $5.00 USD that I had in my wallet. If the Aduana lady had not agreed to come into the office, it would have meant two nights of border town lodging and not much else.

Stop here to surrender your Brazilian temporary vehicle importation permit:

Inspetoria da Receita Federal
Av. Internacional, 860 - Centro, Ponta Porã - MS, 79904-738, Brazil
https://maps.app.goo.gl/8QcnesXU5RHTbLFM6

(There may be a lot of parked trucks hiding the building.)

The lady at the desk was somewhat amused. Maybe she doesn't see many motorcyclists turning in their TVIP...or maybe I got the wrong office.
