Manaus - Santarem ferry price

Hi guys,

Anyone knows, mas o menos, how much does the ferry cost for a 4x4? What days does it depart from Manaus? Does it take passangers (including woman)?

I know that Land Crusing Adventure paid 1000 reales for Mapacu - Belem route in 2011, but could not find anything about Manaus - Santarem part.

If that is a great unknown then maybe you know prices for Porto Velho - Manaus (or the other way round)?

Cheers,
Bartek

The part about prices is no longer actual. Just got a reply from TransAmazonas Logística, which said:
  • Porto velho - Manaus R$ 1.200,00 or 320 USD
  • Manaus - Porto Velho R$ 1.200,00 or 320 USD
  • Manaus - Santarém R$ 1.000,00 or 266 USD

I paid about 1400 Reals for 4x4 and two people on a barge from Manaus to Belem. That was in 2014. 5 days on barge, food included. Passengers are not legal, but some barges will take them for a bit extra. We two were a male and female. There was also a Brazilian trucker and wife on our barge as well.

Ferry for 4x4

Hello Tofel, did you end up getting that ferry?
We are currently in Santerem and would like to take a car ferry to Porto Velho.
It’s tricky to find out how that works. Any suggestions?

Best wishes
Paul
