Hey Guys

Am just in southern Colombia (Cali) and getting ready to set off north in the next few days to cartagena (cant actually walk at the moment due to 13 stitches in the sole of my foot - and no it was not bike related - it would appear motorbiking 10,000 miles through south america is relatively safe and climbing over rocks on a beach is the perilouse activity)

Anyway I should be raring to go soon enough and just doing some route planning - will be taking a sail boat form Cartagena and just wondering if anyone had any suggestions between here (Cali) and there - good roads/maybe some good off-roading/good activities - im up for anything

That would be me then. I'm up in Medellin at the moment, I'll be staying a few more days before heading up to Cartagena to look for a container to get the bike home.
Cali to Medellin is do-able in one day but it's a long slog, particularly the last 70km or so

Aye, I'm back on the road but I still need to find someone with an impact wrench and a sprocket puller
Procastinating in Medellin, still got a few bob left but not enough to continue to NA and holed up in Casa Kiwi. There's a greasy spoon next door, the owner keeps his own pigs, makes his own sausages, cures his own bacon and has a supply of HP sauce. There's a local microbrewery that's extremely good, a kebab shop, a curry house and a chip shop that understands the importance of vinegar.
I'm going to be here a few days but I'm already lining up job interviews and a shipping container in Cartagena is beckoning.

If this is the Greasy Spoon I'm thinking of owned by Simon the Englishman he also has one of the best pork rib joints in all of SA, Fooking Good Ribs aka "Mu" that should not be missed also right near the Shamrock Irish Pub and Grill in a nice location with available rooms.

Medellin, one of the absolute best cities in all of SA!

I met Simon on his Vespa this morning and shall be heading up to Mu for lunch. He's also putting me in touch with a guy with a Norton Commando and the tools I need so all good.
Right, time to hit the bar. I think I will start with an American Pale Ale today.

I'll be crossing into Co from Equador at the end of this week. Round the 10th. And nice roads are indeed verry much welcome. I think ill be heading pretty straight for the Carribian coast though. After 4 mounths and 15000k on the road I look forward to some beach time in the end of my travel. Have to go home on oct 10th

You saved the best for last, Colombia will not disappoint, don't go straight to the beach your on a motorcycle trip, beaches will always be there you won't always have your bike in Colombia.

Colombia is pure heaven on a moto.

From Medellin we took the road over Venezuela, but wasn't worth it
we'll be in Cartagena for one week now and send our bikes back to europe
