Stayed at Iguazu for a few days, contacted this guy and stayed at a place that he owns with a cousin, it's a private area that they use during weekends for parties, there's a kitchen and barbecue area, room with beds, hot shower, swimming pool and a camping area with loads of space for parking and working on the bike, wich was good because I needed a rear tyre and got it with their help in paraguay for a bargain, even gave a mobile to use while staying there. there's not a specific price, just agreed a price that was even cheaper than hostels compared with they offered and that was it
Good vibes with these guys, good bikers and very hepfull with loads of tips for borders and roads, recommend to everyone!!!

Hi there! I am in Cuiaba now and went around looking for tires all day. I went to a shop and after talking a bit they recommended I should pick up tires at the Paraguay border - he said they are easy to find and quite cheap.

He didn't say Iguazu though... he wrote on a piece of paper that it was about 65 kilometers from Dourados. From looking at the map I'm assuming it is Ponta Pora he is talking about. Do you know if one can pick up good tires for a reasonable price there? Also, I will let you know when I'm closer to Igauzu. Thanks in advance.

would have thought anywhere over the border they will be plenty of places to buy tires ,they are so bloody expensive here it makes me want to cry almost its a good excuse for me to go a for a ride over the border just to buy my tires ,got quoted R$360.00 for a rear on my honda falcon and pay just R$120.00 in paraguai ,if you are any where near curitiba send a pm and we can have a few s ride safe

I found a place with parking and camping - didn't look very far honestly, it was in my lonely planet. Seems okay and is only 17 real a night to pitch a tent - with breakfast. I met up with original poster, Iguassu falls Quati, while in Foz do Iguacu and he was awesome.

I met him randomly so that's what makes the story more bizarre. I was staying at the hostel I mentioned above and the day I was leaving the hostel, the owner asked me if I was interested in selling my bike. I had mentioned it to someone and figured that knowing my options would not be a bad thing - i.e. shipping bike home vs selling. Anyway, the hostel owner, I can't remember his name now, got me in touch with Rod (Quati).

I had no expectations but he ended up being super cool and now he's a friend. He got me in touch with a guy he knows in Paraguay that is always interested in buying travel bikes. Even though I ended up not selling and am planning on shipping home (Seattle, WA) from Santiago next month, it was super cool. We drove to Ciudad del Este and met up and had a great laugh. On the way back to Foz do Iguazu he helped me find a rear tire to finish up the trip and then we ate at a great rodizio restaurant - great food and good price.

If you find yourself in Iguazu and want to meet up with a fellow bike traveler he's a cool guy - and he speaks perfect English. If you need something bike related, or probably just in general, he can help you and the best thing was that he does it because he wants to help other bike travelers since he is also one - that is, he expects nothing in return, just a friendly dude wanting to meet up with other travelers going through his hometown.

It is a couple of kilometres out of town in the country. Plenty of parking for motorbikes, bicycles, cars and trucks. Wifi and a swimming pool. It is very quite and situated on an old farm. Really nice people. Very, very clean. Camping facilities as well.
