Road to Katmandou

Hello!
I am in India at the moment, travelling alone by motorbike, and I should go to Nepal soon.
Some say the roads to kathmandu are very bad because of monsoon.
Does someone rode there at the moment?
Any advice?
Thank you!
Virginie

The roads can very quickly become totally impassable in Nepal during Rainy season. I am aware of problems today around Baglung west of KTM. Via contacts in that area.

What is your planned point of entry and route to KTM? I may be able to get some up to date info.

Thanks for your answer Tim!
I would like to join Katmandou quickly from Nepalganj, I think it's the "better" road?...
At the moment, I am in Ladakh and I think I will be near Nepalganj in 15 days!

Do not know Nepalganj > Butwal road.
.....Butwal Pokhara Katmandou? good roads. Can be lots of trucks! Watch out for white mini bus they are crazy! Pokhara is nice place.
Butwal Bhâratpur ( Hetauda via Daman ) > Katmandou? from Hetauda is a great route

Lots of reports of landslides, there is one near Butwal. No info on road yet. Lots more in central west areas. Siddharthanagar may be the best? It is the most popular point of entry.

Will post any more I hear.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
