Route South of Loha.

This route avoids the large desert by the coast and will lead you towards Chachapoyas and the not to be missed mountain top pre-inca fortress of Kuelap. Some off-road skills would be useful!

Alec. Thanks for the great information. I love those quiet out-of-the way roads and places. Where did you cross the border? It looks like it might be Namballe. Are there border facilities there? Also I don't seem to find the Kuelap ruins on the map. Do you have more info? In looking at my map earlier, I had figured that I would go east at Loha to Velacruz then south to Macara. That is the border crossing that everyone seems to like but the smaller, easier, and faster the better. Any input on doing that? If you have any other info on routes all the way to Tierra del Fuego and would care to share, I would appreciate the info. Thanks In Advance.
