France to Nepal

Hello there!
I'm working on our next trip. We will be 2 or 3 motorbike.
We hope to go to Nepal passing by Kirghiz, China, Tibet, and then, down to India, Pakistan, Iran Turquie and hOme ... We project to go in 1 year or more...
The route from France to Torugart Pass in Kyrgyzstan is allready defined.
But from that point till Nepal, it seems to be a bit more complicated and expensive du to the local guide we must pay apparently!?!...
It seems that riding on his own motorbike is quite expensive in china? I read that we have to travel with an agency or local guide?
But once crossing the China border, can we drive by our own or do we have to ride with the guide to Zhangmu?
And which road? I would like to ride on the KKH from Kashgar... Is it allowed (and safe) to bivouac in Pakistan?
Well well well... still lot of questions, but if some of you have passed through those country and have informations, I would be pleased to read about your trip!

I look forward to read you!
Kind regards,
Virginie

Hey Casper,
Can you share the route from France till Kyrgyz?
I am working on India-France this April.
From Zhangmu(China-Nepal border) till Khorgos(China-Kazakh) border crossing is the most expensive part of our trip.

Also, what is the route identified by you from Kyrgyz to Nepal?

Hey andymaxman!
I would like to ride from France to Moscou, Kazan, then travel to Astana in Kazakh and Go to Zaisan, in Altai Mountains (so beautiful!)!! Then go down the Charyn canyon National Park and finally, Issyk-Kul in Kirghizstan.
Pass in China by Torugart…
First, I thought I could ride on the KKH from Kashgar, Gilgit Islamabad and Lahore (in Pakistan) then ride to Ladakh before enter in Nepal…. and so on…
But as you said, riding in China is a very expensive part of the travel so I’m trying to find an other way to go to Nepal! And also, Pakistan is sometime unsafe…
Maybe from Iran and boat! …
In search of information for the moment...
Are you going to travel through India before Nepal and China?
Cheers!

Hey Casper and Tiger,
I am from India and would be travelling from here till France and so the route query to find an economical way to enter Kazakh or Kyrgyz. At the moment it seems like China is a must. The route via Pakistan and Iran just might not be safe, considering i will be travelling with my wife and kids (7 and 11).

I will be keeping an eye out for what routes you guys eventually decide.

Off-topic - any idea why i do not get mails about new posts to my email id?
