OT: How does Google Maps display info this way for route planning?

Most times for country-country the gMaps is not able to show routes. And when it does, it shows a detailed road by road description. This makes it cumbersome for me to see in a snapshot imp. details like distance and time taken when i chart this kind of info on an Excel sheet.

Any inputs will be a huge relief.

There are much better workflows available, to plan your big trip in detail. And how you can visualize it:

It would have saved my many hours on Excel and Word, to collect Informations and Details about our route… This way you can collect not just the route, you can too collect points you will see, you can discuss them private or discuss it public. Other readers can too add sightseeing suggestions and so on...

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
