Mechanic / Auto Electrician Dhakla Western Sahara

Found a mechanic in an area the locals told me there were a number of mechanics. Mostly cars but the guy (Yessine) i dealt with was happy to work on the bike

Problem was the cooling fan was knackered. BMW parts for my 2004 Dakar were as you'd imagine. He sourced and modified a honda fan into it and its working fine.

I'm not the most mechanically minded person so called my mechanic (and close friend) back home. Yessine without prompting agreed with my mechanic in the UK. He is mainly an auto electrician but a mechanic too.

No English, but patient and keen to help with my seriously limited French. He was open on Friday morning too, not all were. I joined him and his kids for cous cous too in the shop.

Sorted my bike, part was €160. Agreed on €60 for labour. Probably about 4 hours of work for that. Maybe steep? Don't know, don't care. Its not ludicrous and he pulled a rabbit out of the hat to get me back on the road within 24 hours. Came by my hotel to update me in the evening too

Coordinates below, ive uploaded to ioverlander too

N 23.41.43.4
W 015.56.21.3

Diagelectro Autodak
Phone number 002120672302511

Hotel nearby too. Head south to the main road. Hotel Almohit is signposted above the shops. Its on Google as well. 150dh. Big room. Shower, cable tv. Parking for the bike. On ioverlander too

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
