Uzbekistan visa

Hi,
i hope next year i will ride to Tadjikistan from Europe . And there are many countries in the way that need visas . So, does enybody know is it possible to get transit visa for Usbekistan without LOI. I dont want to explore Usbekistan i just want to drive the shortest road to enter Tajikistan it is around 300km.
The same question for Turkmenistan.

thanks

hi,
for visas it depends which country you are from ! for example i'm french and i can have a transit visa for both countries you speak about ! the best way, is to check with embassies in your home town country !

For most nationalities there's a list on Wikipedia showing the visa requirements of all other countries for the according nationality. Like for example for Paraguay:

Warning, these pages are a bit misleading as many countries marked "visa on arrival" allow this only when arriving through an airport, not a land border (e.g. Ethiopia). As we're on a forum for overlanders, I think this is a crucial reminder.

Today there was the news, that visa for some countries are nit necessary anymore for Usbekistan.

Like Austria, Swiss, Germany, and 12 other countries.

Only a fee of 50 Dollar has to be paid when entering.

That comes perfect as I am going to Usbekistan from Iran ( via Turkmenistan ) this year...

Pity that the list isn't longer.
