Arranging a bike in Osh, Kyrgyz

I am looking for two bikes in Osh for about three weeks in June.
The plan is to do the Pamir but we struggle to arrange affordable bikes.

Maybe someone on the HUBB could help us to turn this frustrating search into a memorable ride.

Cheers,
Wauschi

Thank you for your hint!

But, well, Muztoo is the reason for the post.
Have you noticed how much they are asking for? Kyrgyz is not Switzerland.

Is there any other option getting a motorcycle in Kyrgyz?

Cheers,
Wauschi

Well I hardly think the guys are getting rich and living in a modern glass penthouse in Osh based on the prices they rent out motorcycles. I think the prices are par for the course considering they need to be maintained and serviced and set for the next guy to come along and ride them ragged in the dirt all day long. The other options that I know of will be to ride your bike in, or fly your bike in - they are probably more expensive options. Osh is not exactly the kind of place that is full of western motorcycle dealers... with loads of spare bikes lying around waiting for a rider.

There may be some options in Bishkek.

As said by other posts, the only other alternative is to get your bikes there and back.
Check out advfactory.com. We got our bikes back from Kyrgyzstan (to London), last September, with them, and it was fast enough.

Check out their calendar as they have fixed transport dates (you can drop the bikes well in advance).

Maybe cost of shipping back and forth will be less than renting 3 weeks? Worth considering.

Cheers,

@wauschi ..Please let us all know what kind of quote you get from that Austrian transporter. It's very convenient others in central Europe. I'm planning a ship out ride home trip for next spring. Thanks!

Pamir Rental trip?

Hi guys,

I want to do the same trip and decided rental is best. It seems to always be around USD100 per day. I think it will be worth it.

I am from the UK and looking to find a few friends to share the trip with. Please let me know how your plans develop. I can go June - July.

I have good experience, (Uk to India Honda Dominator 2001)

Tim

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
