Aussie travelling to California (SanFran) 7/15/16 wish to purchase M/Bike b4 arrive

Hi to all in the lovely state of California especially HU riders in the SanFrancisco bay area.
Here's the thing as they say! I am a 60 years plus frustrated motorcycle rider from Australia (Warragul/Victoria/Australia) approaching semi retirement and on the bucket list into retirement is the round the world trip on a motorbike with my lovely wife, no time limit just travel.
As a precursor to our final challenge I would like to enlist the help of anybody from the HU family in the Northern California area. (Reciprocal accommodation Australia/USA available in return)
I wish to purchase prior to my arrival on the 7/15/16 at SFO Airport a good reliable touring bike (Registered/tags etc) for maximum price of $2000 US.

I will be in the US California for 6 weeks and intend to travel to Yosemite and other parts whilst there. On conclusion of the Reconnaissance trip the bike will be stored with friends in San Francisco. I have been trolling Craigs list and trying to get replies to my inquiries but to no avail hence I am seeking some trustworthy person/s to help me out with my dream.

I have been riding motorcycles for all of about 45 years and have mainly had touring motorcycles from BMW, Honda and Harley Davidson. I hope I have a good knowledge of motorcycles which will no doubt come in handy with our future trips.
I currently own and ride a 2008 Honda CB1300s and a NT650V Deauville (originally bought for my daughter/another story)

Most of my enquiries have extended to older BMW K series bikes on Craigs List and if I was able to purchase something along those lines would be good.

My name is Brian Bazeley and I can be contacted at brianbazeley@ymail.com

I am genuine and honest and I hope I can be contacted with something to help us out from the HU family. Many Thanks Brian

P.S Shipping a Motorbike from Australia to Us and return is very expensive and not justified.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
