Wanted: Fixer Alexandria

We are in Athens right now and our 2 motorcycles will arrive at the port of Alexandria at the 8 of November. Can anybody recommend me a reliable fixer for the customs clearance who charges a reasonable fee?

As we heard from other overlanders CSF is a highly recommended agency. But so far we received an offer of incredible 1700 Euros for our 2 motorbikes made by CFS. This is by far more than we expected.
We also contacted interlog, logistics@cscegy.com, global.globalfreight@gmail.com, nahas11@hotmail.com but did not receice an answer yet.
Your suggestions and personal experiences are highly appreciated! Thanks, Yutah

That’s why I did it with CFS. Will not be the cheaper one, but for sure will be the best one. Considering the Egyptian procedures for customs, etc... , if you can afford and want a smooth process trust on them.

I used CFS leaving Egypt with a motorcycle and a friend has used it entering - both of us had a trouble free experience. When you see the bureaucracy involved you begin to understand the cost and in the end I found even though expensive they were value for money. They are also good friendly people keen to meet and help travelers. To give you an idea of the bureaucracy, you have to change your immigration status to import/export a bike, get all documents translated to Arabic and court certified. I could not imagine doing all that without some assistance. Good luck.

Thanks for these infos.
Can you tell me if these fixers are doing the same job for cars?
And approximatively, at what price?
Thanks in advance.

CFS do it for sure, but unfortunately I don’t know the rates for a car. Better contact them and see.

Recomended:CSC

I have just gone through the costoms clearance in Alexandria and I would like to share my experience concerning the fixer topic. We asked for different quotes and we decided to authorize CSC. Their service was excellent. General manager Hania Khalifa is a very nice lady who speaks English and French. From the very beginning she gave us precise information and full transparency about the costs and the procedure. The lady who was with us at the port was very efficient and did a great job dealing with the authorities. It took her 2 1/2 days.
For 2 motorbikes we finally paid 500 $ to CSC and
1200$ for the rest (Shipping agent, Customs, Trafic Police etc). The storage of the bikes was highest amount (there was a long weekend), so you might save some money if you manage to hurry up. The price for a car is similar (appr. 850$)
All in all we were completely satisfied with the work they did and I do highly recommend them.

One more tip: Their office is right next to the Amoun Hotel which has a guarded parking on the street.
Good luck to everybody who is going through the port's madness! ;-)
