Bike Transport to Morocco

Does anyone anyone offer a service that brings bikes from Spain into the Marrakesh/Ouarzazate area?

Was trying to see if I could find a way of maximising time off-road in the Ouarzazate-Zagora-Merzouga area w/o the schlep to-from Spain.

I know its easier to fly down and rent, but want to be on my own bike if possible.

Bikershome previously mentioned that they were thinking of offering this - and have just asked them, but wanted to see if anyone else has done this before.

Peter's Spanish base is at Orce in Granada province and he has a 4x4 pickup.

Hana at MotoAdvenTours (based at Alhaurin de la Grande, near Malaga) has a large bike trailer that she uses for Moroccan trips.

Not aware of any others.

Peter from Bikershome can do this, which means no road tyres for me

He has a depot in Baza, Spain (nr Gibralta) and can deal with c.4 bikes at a time.

Its just over EUR 2k for the round trip Baza-Ouarzazate-Baza and he deals with all the customs paperwork as long as you give him the relevant docs.

A great service that works out ok on price if you can get 4 bikes on.

I currently have a 2 bike trip - so if anyone else wants to share this service PM me, currently planning a trip late April

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
