Insurance Extension

Does anyone know if it's possible to extend the insurance bought in Tangier Med by a couple of days, and if so where? I've dropped a clanger only buying 10 days worth and am going to be hard pressed to get the sort of trip in I want in that time.

Sorry if this has been addressed before, my phone is having a spaz attack and I can't use the search function for some reason.

Hi, I am copying this from my post last week

Warning: Although the visa extension was easier than reports on the web, extending our vehicle insurance was not.

There are assurance offices in most large towns, but they will only do Moroccan registered vehicles. That includes AXA. The frontiers insurance seems to be a monopoly with CAT Compangie D'assurance Transport based in Cassablanca. They have relatively few agents and you have to visit the agencies in person to get a new assurance certificate.

It cost us 1952 D for 3 more months (the same as at the border).

There is an email address on the back of your certificate, they will give you a quick reply ( in the week) telling you the nearest agents.

Hey thanks for relaying that. I was only looking to extend it by a couple of days but I think I've sorted out a route so will just be scampering off from Tangier when it runs out.

You'd think they would make it easier to relieve you of your money.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
