Rear leaf set
Matt,
Depending on what you are going to do with the car, if you intend to do an overland trip, I would not go for OME springs. The shape of the OME are different from the Toyota shape. The OME have a flat part in the middle where the U-bolts are fitted. The Toyota's don't have that. They are not interchangeble. This means if you break a leaf, you can't replace it with any other new or second hand leaf but you are stuck to replacing it with another OME, and these are not easy to get outside the western world, certainly not in Africa. Best to stick with standard design. Many non Toyota springs according original design are available, like Ironman.
I had a couple of broken leafs on my trip through Africa and could use any Toyota spring available, ones I pulled one from a container on a mission!
If you stay in Europe then OME is no problem.
Cheers,
Noel
