Lightbulb Kle 500 Not Charging

Hi,
So after restoring my Kle sitting for about 7 years ( check my ooold post) everything was running nice for about 8 months..
a week or so the bike stop charging the battery..
Rotor is brand new, and the stator giving 40-65v (AC)
the old rectifier was receiving the ac voltage and not having a output of 14.4v so i change it..
Now with the bike at idle, the rectifier have output of 13.something volt..
when i increase the rev the voltage drops. And at the output of the rectifier and at the stator..
the other test i did was to check again the stator..with the rectifier and at idle revs the voltage drop at 8v (AC) without the rectifier is at normal.
so
1. rotor at 40-65v (AC)
2. rectifier 13.0v only at idle
3. on high rev ( 2.000 - 4.000) the voltage drops
4. with the rectifier connected the voltage drops and at the stator
(sry for my poor English hope i guide you correctly through my problem and steps to solve it)

KLE charging system failure

Hello,
After reading your post, two questions come to my mind:

- Are you sure about the condition of your battery? I had a motorcycle battery that last only two days before a cell failed

-Is your regulator/rectifier from Kawasaki or an after market thing?
Some after market electrical are very good, but others are terribly unreliable.

Not having the battery connected can give bad readings from the rec/reg.

When it is all connected up the battery should charge ..

a rough test is that the battery voltage increases with rising engine revs ..
to a maximum of around 13.6 volts .. upto 14 volts

It will fall as engine revs fall .. if it falls below 12.6 volts you could have a bad battery .. or the battery could simply need charging.
