Good Times
It was our 4th meeting and I'd say it was the best yet.
A big thanks to Grant, Susan, Glynn and all the volunteers and staff at Lumb Farm for making it happen.
Good to see some familiar faces and meet some new folks too. Hello Rob & Helen, and Richard, who had a Harley, now on a GS.
Such a shame Sam Manicom couldn't be there, hope the recovery is going well, Sam, We'll see you at the Ace in September, can't wait for the new book..!

I think you need to get out more, or try the Isle of Man TT !
I am someone that has tried many many times and went last year and when the racing is not interrupted by the weather yes its great.You also cannot see any better racing than bike racing on public roads but even though I get cheap accommodation the ferry cost of £220 is too prohibitive.
Its no I.O.M for me again next year but definitely HU meet and perhaps one further afield some time.Blimey it must have been good because I am even thinking about flogging the Blackbird and getting an Adventure bike.

Hi all, just signed up to say what a great event this was, I really enjoyed it and hope to hit a few more in the future. There were only two problems that I can complain about, one already mentioned..
a) The sewage. It was on the very spot I'd chosen to put up my floorless tent on arrival, but luckily my mates parked their bikes there just to annoy me so I had to go a few yards to the right. Only for that I'd have been waking up literally in the sh#t, as there was no indication of the problem on the first day and it appeared overnight, so I would not have been a happy camper at all. As it was I just moved uphill a bit before it flooded me but the stink was still very unpleasant.
b) The sun. Get rid of it, more  please ! As a west coast of Ireland Paddy I can't be having it

Tyre Changing Competition Results:
This was a tough challenge - on and off, a stiff old sports bike tyre, a wide tubeless rim, and only short tyre levers and a bit of soap to do it with. Competitors were dripping with sweat after struggling with the rock hard tyre!
Winner of a Horizons Unlimited £50 gift certificate (redeemable at the TravelDri booth): Ciaran McFerran, in 5:39.
Second Place, a £20 gift certificate redeemable at the TravelDri booth: Richard Tibbets, in 6:32.
Other competitors were Bram Dumolin in third, and Dermot Moriarty in fourth.
Think you could do it faster? See you next year then!

New for this year, the first HU Travel Bike Show!
There was a VERY interesting collection of bikes on display, so a great success, and we'll be doing it again next year.

Sorry about the sewage  it's been mentioned several times, and we're on it! Seems to be an overload problem - we're their biggest event.
Sun - you just picked a bad year, usually we manage to make the Irish quite happy!
Great to hear everyone had a good time, we were worried in the days before that something major would go wrong - and some did - but we were lucky and with a lot of help got them all sorted in time.

For my fourth HU UK meeting I crossed over to the 'other side' becoming a presenter! Really enjoyed that and it was another top meeting.

Just have to say this was my first meeting, i'm normally a loner and don't like bike meets but this was excellent. Everybody was friendly and its nice to meet people who have done what i dream of doing. Paul i would never have guessed that that was your first presentation it was brilliant very natural and funny. The staff at Lumb Farm were always willing to help even though they were run off their feet at times. Can't wait till next year, i might even try and get to Ireland for that meeting. Thanks again to Grant and Susan and all the volunteers and back up team you should be proud of yourselves.

I video'd Austins gig, got his permission but he added 'not to go on youtube' ..I've a Vimeo account so everything is okay.
However 45minutes might be pushing my luck for an upload
