Smile HU CanWest July 11-14, 2019-DATE-CHANGE!

Horizons Unlimited CanWest Travellers Meeting will be in Nakusp, BC from July 11-14, 2019. Super riding in the area and a very friendly town on a lovely lake. NOTE the earlier date - well before the fire season! We are planning a Mini-HUMM and rideouts, plus riding skills tune-ups and challenges.

Join local hosts and RTW motorcycle travellers Ekke Kok and Audrey Allenspach-Kok for a few days of great camaraderie, good food, terrific presentations, and a community of people who don't think you're crazy for wanting to ride to the middle of nowhere.

"The presenters were awesome, we even had a Canadian stand up comic (Daryl Makk) who was very funny and many excellent female presenters, Megan, Rosie, Krista and Jenny Morgan to name a few. What a great place to meet other travelers and after a few days hanging out with them feels like I've known them for years, and not to mention catching up with old friends as well. I really enjoyed the hands on workshops including bike ergo's and mods with Grant Johnson and modifying your motorcycle seat with Herman Kovacs. Thanks to Grant and Susan for their tireless efforts and to the hosts, Ekke and Audrey for an amazing event." David (Kiwi Canuck)

Registration is open now with early bird rates! HU Travellers Meeting Canwest 2019 | Horizons Unlimited

Tentative schedules and presenter lists will be posted on the HU Canada West page, and we'll be adding more as you volunteer to talk about your latest or greatest trip! Remember, we always need practical how-to sessions as well. Start here to register as a presenter: HU Travellers Meeting Presenter Registration| Horizons Unlimited

We'll be there, hope to see you there!

HUMM Nakusp

Does anyone know if the HUMM ride(s) in Nakusp will be doable with a 2-wheel drive Ural/sidecar rig?

Thanks!

As with all our HUMM Events, we make sure that virtually anyone can ride the events as there is a wide variety of "difficulty levels". Level one, is a good quality graded gravel road. Any family sedan can do it without any difficulty, and a Gold Wing could do it too. Level two is more difficult, and the Gold Wing could be in trouble. Level 5 is experts only on a multi cylinder adventure bike, or very good riders on a dual sport single.

YOU CHOOSE WHICH TAGS you want to go for. There are more tags than is remotely possible to get to. Last year I think the highest number of tags collected was about HALF what was available for the full HUMM. For the Mini-HUMM, no one will get them all or even close. Most are in the 1-3 range, with a couple of 4's and 5's for the hard core. MOSTLY it's about navigation!
You'll be fine on the Ural up to 3 easily, MAYBE a 4 - but there is single track on some 4's and 5's.

Hope that helps!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
