Need LC 100 Outfitter

No luck on searches on this topic. Apologies if this is redundant.

Looking for links to threads or referrals to an outfitter with a proven track record with LC 100 full prep & assembly for extended international overland expeditions.

Need to prep a 100 for extended (12-36+ months) of international travel/exploration. Would prefer a turnkey supplier who can do all the work in one stop.

Require proven skills, stable business, experience, references, professionalism, reliability, integrity & honesty.

OZ, UK, Asia, Europe or North/South America all OK, but must deliver a left hand drive vehicle.

Thanks.

Doug,

Try this link. Knew I'd read about a LC100 preparation. Sounds similar to what your after - garage checked out LHD LC100 on behalf of foreign customer, picked it up, fitted it out. Includes pictures.

http://www.frogsisland4x4.com/featur...ota_lc_100.htm

Frogs Island seem to have a good reputation in this country. Try looking at the other fit outs on the website, there is at least 1 highly kitted 110 that has been all round the world including a very challenging route through central africa. Also they had a go at a Unimog that is currently halfway through a trans africa trip.

I have thought about changing my 110 for a LC100 in the next year or two. Having previously lived in Sydney for 5 years I would buy one out in Aus and kit it up over there. There are a lot more parts readily available for less money and also plenty of decent second hand kitted up LC100. For example, most the government ones are supplied with bull bars and winches and get very little use. They are sold off after 2 - 3 years and make good buys. There is a good ARB garage in Artarmon on the North Shore of Sydney, about 10 minutes on the train from Sydney CBD. Can find the details if sourcing a vehicle in Aus appeals. Only downside is it will be RHD. However only country aware of that limits travel in RHD vehicle is Vietnam. May be more but pretty limited.

Douglas,

Sadly in the UK technical expertise regarding Landcrisers and outfitting them for overland travel is practically nonexistent.I'd rather look for otfitters on the Continent (France, Italy, Holland) For instance http://www.granderg.com/autofuoristrada_lissone.htm
or http://www.paris4x4.com or http://perso.altranet.fr/gene4x4/ ). You can try asking your question also at this forum: http://www.buschtaxi.de/forum/

Plenty of 105s (better than a 100, IMO), know-how and money to be spent in Australia.
http://www.exploroz.com is a good place to start asking.

Try Christo Slee at http://www.sleeoffroad.com. There are very few companies around the world that specialise in the later model Landcruisers and they are one of the best, shipping their kit to other suppliers world wide.

The most expedition experience with 100 series is probably be Aus, but it would be right hand drive and get expensive on the shipping.

The only downside with Christo is that working in the US he is mainly dealing petrol 100s.

If you are looking for a diesel, then follow Roman's advice or talk to Maarten at http://www.all-american.nl/ in Holland - the website is dreadfull, but don't let that put you off, they know what they are doing there.

Good luck.
