absolute right...
well about the black soot... some alcohol out of the country shops are very high percentage... if you get a lot of soot... just mix it with a "bit water"... YES WATER and all the black smoke and soot will not appear and don't make your cooking pots look that old either.
had some pink methylated spirits in Sweden, very aggressive and lots of soot, just added some water to it and it all burned nice and clean.
