Looking for Travelbike in Ghana

Hi I am Josef,
Currently I am in Ghana working at a construction Project until March. For this time and a following journey back to Europe, I would like to have a bike with something about 650cc.
Please write me if you are in Ghana and have a bike for this use.
Best regards, Josef

You’re already aware that virtually all bikes in Ghana are small-displacement and Chinese. I’ll offer the advice I’ve given previously, which is that the majority of large (e.g., 650cc) bikes in West Africa are stolen, therefore not a safe bet for travel. Caveat emptor.

I knew a guy who was legally importing used Japanese bikes of that general size, but last I was in Accra he was contemplating going out of business. When I get home I’ll try to dig up some contact info.

There is also the well-known KTM dealership in Lomé, but I’ve had no direct experience with them.

GHANA / Ivory Coast small bike wanted

Hi lads, I am looking to buy a small bike in ACCRA or ABIDJAN in December 2023 and ride it to Dakar.

Do you have any clue about how difficult it is to get a vehicle registered in a foreigner´s name on a tourist visa in these countries?

Cheers!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
